On energy and maturity

It seems that the older you get, the less expendable energy you have.

This may have a side effect on making unworthy uses of energy all the more unappealing. The expectation of having to shoulder the negative consequences makes the whole move too tiresome to even initiate.

The outer manifestation can look like maturity, temperance, not being fuzzed around by shiny new objects.

The inner reality may simply be ‘it’s not worth the hassle’.
